MRS. ADA FRANKLIN PALMER, age 88 of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 08, 2012 at her residence following a period of declining health.
A life-long native of Habersham County, Georgia, Mrs. Palmer was born on April 14, 1924, a daughter of the late John & Hattie Adams Franklin. She was retired after years of service with Piedmont Automotive. Mrs. Palmer was a member of the Habersham Baptist Church, where she was participated in the Older Ladies Sunday School Class, WMU, Young At Hearts Group, & served for many years on the church food service committee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George A. “G.A.” Palmer, sisters, Reba Jordan, Irene Allen, brothers, Clyde Franklin, Earl Franklin, J.C. Franklin, and Arlen Franklin.
Survivors include her children, Gail & Nelson Crowe, Clarkesville, GA; Shirley & Mike Roberts, Mt. Airy, GA; Kathy & Phil Harris, Baldwin, GA; Phyllis & Tim Carter, Commerce, GA; and Grandma to 15 grandchildren & 26 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Habersham Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Thomas and the Rev. Jerry Buschmann officiating. Interment will follow in the Habersham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
