MS. AGNES JOYCE KIMBRELL, age 78, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on August 23, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George and Martha Elizabeth Ward Kimbrell. Ms. Kimbrell was retired from Carwood Manufacturing where she worked for many years and was a member of the Welcome Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid animal lover. In addition to her parents, Ms. Kimbrell was preceded in death by her brother, Blanton Kimbrell, brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Lela Kimbrell, sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Frank Dill brother-in-laws, Otis Hunt, , Curtis Hardy, and Garlan Brookshire.
Survivors include her son, Randy Kimbrell, grandchildren, Morgan and Kevin Blakley, great-grandchildren, Kasen and Caroline, all of Mt. Airy; brothers and sister-in-laws, James and Dorothy Kimbrell, Bradley and Mavis Kimbrell, all of Mt. Airy; sisters, Geraldine Hunt, Toccoa; Ouida Hardy, Mary Fay Brookshire, both of Demorest; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & her faithful companion, Misty the Dog.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the Welcome Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Ryals officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The family is at the residence.
