MRS. AMY ELIZABETH REEVES HALL, age 93 of Demorest, Georgia went to her Heavenly Home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, November 16, 2012 at her residence.
Born on December 04, 1918, in Franklin, NC, she was a daughter of the late Thomas T. and Ida Bell Love Reeves. Mrs. Hall was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a school cook with the W.P.A. program. Granny Hall, as she was affectionately known, with her passion for care giving, left a legacy encouraging her children and grandchildren to always take care of others, and to fully rely on God in every decision made in life. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, canning, and was well known for homemade biscuits and cakes.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Winston Wilbanks; daughter-in-law, Wilma Hall; granddaughter, Becky Woods; several brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include daughter, Catherine Hall Wilbanks of Mt. Airy; son, James Robert Hall of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren, Tim Hall, Robert Hall, Jeanna Hall Smith, Rose Marie Melton, Rhonda Wilbanks, Robin Wilbanks, Cindy Mixon, Tammy Wilbanks, 17 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Rice, Rev. Mike Wilson and Rev. Scott Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Saturday and from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Sunday.
Mrs. Hall’s children would like to extend a special thanks to all of Mrs. Hall’s caregivers, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center, and Dr. Manzoor & Staff at Longstreet Clinic Internal Medicine.
