Angus Logan Hunter, age 71 of the Hollywood Community, Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019.
Born in Clayton, Georgia on August 03, 1947, he was a son of the late Joel Herman Hunter, Sr. & Bonnie Viola Gordon Hunter. Mr. Hunter served his country proudly in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War as a machinist. He worked with the Habersham County School System for many years as a custodian and later retired as a bus driver. Mr. Hunter was also an entrepreneur and former restaurant owner of Reba’s Buffet & Grill in the Hollywood Community. Most of all, Angus enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant brother, Joel Herman Hunter, Jr. and sister, Brenda Hunter.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Reba Holden Hunter of Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Tate & Angela Hunter of Toccoa, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Laura & Shawn Weldy of Clarkesville, GA; sister, Lubeth Eller of Demorest, GA; grandchildren, Cassie & John Nix, Ty Hunter, Trace Hunter, Tripp Hunter, Hayden Weldy, & Tucker Weldy; great-grandchildren, Shelby Grace Thomas, Colton Wayne Thomas, and Baby Angus Ryan Hunter Nix on the way.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Don Samples, Rev. Connie Berry, & Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in the Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Holcomb officiating at the graveside. Military Honors will be provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Habersham American Legion Post #84, & the Rabun County D.A.V. Chapter #15.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
