BERMA HENRY POOLE, 75, of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Stephens County Hospital following a brief illness.

Born on June 26, 1938, in Rabun County, Georgia she was daughter of the late Rev. Carl S. Henry and Burel Moore Henry. Mrs. Poole attended B.C. Grant Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the AARP meetings as well as the Sunshine Band meetings at Level Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poole was preceded in death by her husband, James Telford Poole, and a son, Scott McClure.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Todd & Robbin McClure, Tiger, GA; step-daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Ricky Simmemon, Alto; sisters and brothers-in-law; Vivian H. (Jack) Davis, Dillard, GA; Janie H. (Eddie) Bingham, Clayton GA; Jerry H. (Hoyt) Hooper, Cornelia, GA; brothers, Ellis Henry & Vernon Henry, both of Clayton, GA; sisters-in-law, Barbara Robinson, Mozelle Wilbanks, both of Cornelia, GA; Betty Sue Elrod, Demorest, GA; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Rayford (Lillian) Poole, Alto, GA; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, & cousins.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Mr. Ricky Simmemon officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.
