Bill Dailey

January 18, 1928 — August 21, 2014

Bill Dailey, age 86 of Baldwin, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Hayesville, North Carolina, on January 18, 1928, he was a son of the late Mitch and Carrie Garrison Dailey. Mr. Dailey was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing as a textile engineer and was a member of Hillside Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Sunday school teacher. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography, time with family, gardening, and eating out.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Dailey was also preceded in death by his wife, Francine Lewallen Dailey; sisters, Hazel Dailey and Sally Shelton; brothers, Henry Dailey and Horace Dailey.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Sara Dailey of Cornelia; special friend, Jo Nell Barrett of Demorest; sisters, Betty White of Cornelia and Janella Patton of Hayesville, NC; brothers, Jack Dailey of Hayesville and Lee Dailey of Hiawassee; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Larry Free and Dr. Kenneth Franklin. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post #7720, Rabun County DAV Chapter #15, Habersham County American Legion Post #84, and the Georgia National Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday.
