Blanche Iva Murphy Hubbard, 81, of Lula, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at her residence.
Born in Murphy, NC on January 7, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Callie Dockery Murphy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Roy Ramey; sister, Helen Radford.
Mrs. Hubbard was a retired poultry farmer and a good neighbor that was active in her community. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Living Mission United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hubbard was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Rudolph Hubbard of the home; son, Eddie Hubbard of Banks County; daughter, Debbie Smith of Lula; sisters, Mildred Hoak of Fayetteville, GA, Irene Carter of Murphy, NC; one granddaughter and her husband, Misty Dawn and Stephen Jackson of Alto and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Living Mission United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert West officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hubbard will lie in state at the church from 1 pm until the funeral hour on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
