Bobbie Sue Brock, age 80, of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
Born on April 19, 1933, in Banks County, she was a daughter of the late Ben David and Lizzie Carlan Nunnally. Mrs. Brock was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Baldwin. She worked as a seamstress with Blue Bell Manufacturing in Homer for many years, and then later retired from Mt. Vernon Mills with 20 years of service. She loved working with pottery, and at age 70 began taking lessons from Dirt Bag Pottery. She was known as “The Butterfly Lady” and signed her pottery with a trademark butterfly.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brock was also preceded in death by the father of her children, Ezra B. Brock, Sr.; son, David Roger Brock; brother, Thomas Nunnally; sister, Mary Dills.
Survivors include daughter, Diane Higgins of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Jane and Neal Ferguson of Baldwin; son and daughter-in-law, George and Karen Brock of Lula; sons, Ezra Berry Brock, Jr. of Homer and Condus Brock of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.T. and Betty Jean Nunnally of Douglas, Georgia and Roy and Pat Nunnally of Colbert, Georgia; eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Saturday, March 15, 2014 the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Jimmy Maness officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
