Carolyn Jean Richard, age 84, of Martin, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Born on June 30, 1940, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Bascom Bowden and Lucy Hunnicutt Bowden. Carolyn was retired from Buck Creek Mill and, in her spare time, enjoyed racing, fishing, reading, and lifetime movies. She especially loved her family. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn N. Richard; daughter, Glenda Jean Richard; and sister, Diane Freeman.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Mitchell Richard (Savanna) of Toccoa and Tony Richard (Jackie) of Martin; grandchildren, Tonia Burrell, Desmond Richard, Samantha Carpenter, and Randall Carpenter; 14 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several extended family members and friends.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, January 27, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Rev. Roy Bainey officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.
Then family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025, and from 12 noon until the service hour on Monday, at the funeral home.
