MRS. CAROLYN PHILLIPS JONES, age 67 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Habersham Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born on July 08, 1945 in Wartburg, Tennessee, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of Macel Griffith Phillips of Wartburg, TN and the late Jesse Edward Phillips. She was a very loving daughter, devoted mom, doting Maw Maw and caring friend. She loved playing Bridge, gardening, & spending time with family and friends. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Cornelia United Methodist Church. In addition to her father, was preceded in death by her husband James Kinder “Jim” Jones, Sr.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie & Andy Weyenberg, Cumming, GA; son and daughter-in-law, James K. “Jay”, Jr. and Sabrina Jones, Braselton, GA; brother, Charles David Phillips, Clinton, TN; sister, JoAnn Pass, Hampton, GA; grandchildren, Sydney & Kinder Jones, Braselton, GA; Katelyn, Drew, & Jake Weyenberg, Cumming, GA; many other friends and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:30 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
Flowers are optional.
