Christine Franklin Broome, age 79 of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County on December 20, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Flora Mae Murray Franklin. Mrs. Broome was a homemaker and member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking care of others, babysitting, music, traveling, and her beloved cat, Oreo.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Broome; brothers, John Lawrence Franklin and Arnold Franklin.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Stephanie Broome of Mt. Airy; son, Mark Broome of Mt. Airy; granddaughter, Zadie Grace Broome; sisters, Helen Clark of Toccoa, Carolyn Perry and Lillian Perry both of Mt. Airy; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Glade Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Ryals and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday.
