Christine Caudell Ivester, age 92 of Cornelia, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010, at a private healthcare facility following an extended illness.
Born in BanksCounty on August 21, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Pitner and Decie Coker Caudell. She was retired from Ethicon, a Johnson & Johnson Company, and was a member of DamascusBaptistChurch. She enjoyed yard work, flowers, crossword puzzles, scrapbooks, reading, and listening to classical country and gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Richard Ivester; brothers, Oscar, Hermit, Louie and John Caudell; sisters, Cora Caudell, Bernice Andrews, Mary Sue Payne and Doris Comer; brother, Donald Bradley Ivester.
Surviving are daughters, Mildred Wilbanks of Cornelia, Sandra Taylor of Lavonia, Susan Miller of Cornelia and Barbara Whitlow of Gainesville; son, John T. Ivester of Tucker; brother, Wayne Caudell of Jefferson; sister, Bonnie Goza of Tucker; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, November 07, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in LevelGroveCemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to United Hospice, 750 South Enota St, Gainesville, GA 30501.
