Christopher Steven “Chris” Pruitt, age 51, of Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Born on March 29, 1973, in Gainesville, he was the son of Randy and Wanda Sutton Pruitt of Cornelia. Mr. Pruitt graduated from Habersham Central High School in 1991, then went on to own and operate Chris Pruitt Construction. He was a creative builder that was able to show his artistic abilities through his work. Chris was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed mountain motorcycle rides and hunting. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and had a love for Boxer Bulldogs. Chris was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Mt. Airy Lodge #141 F&AM.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Chelie and Jimmy Mize of Toccoa; niece, Abigail; uncles and aunts, Ricky and Kathy Pruitt and Randy and Ann Sutton, all of Clarkesville; his faithful companion, Bessie the Boxer; and a host of cousins and friends.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice and Dr. Brian James officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, and from 12:00 pm until the service hour on Wednesday, both at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Level Grove Baptist Church, In Memory of Chris Pruitt, P.O. Box 416, Cornelia, Georgia 30531.
