Clyde Hamilton, age 74 of Clarkesville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on September 12, 1943, he was a son of the late G. L. Bud Hamilton and Vera Mae York Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was employed with C. P. Wilbanks Lumberyard for over 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith, enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Hamilton; sisters, Linda Mulchi, Brenda Porterfield, and Patsy Hamilton.
Surviving are children, Teresa Smith, David Hamilton, and Jean Hancock all of Clarkesville; grandchildren, Erica Hamilton, Jess (Benjie) Chitwood, Breanna (R. J. Edwards) Smith, Jessica Hancock, and Alex Hancock all of Clarkesville; great grandchildren, Tyson, Chesney, Aubrey, Paisley, Eli, Dakota, Alaynah, and Aleeyah; brothers, Leroy Hamilton of Mt. Airy, Ronald Hamilton, Sonny Hamilton, Jerry Hamilton, and James Hamilton all of Clarkesville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
