Cora Sue Chastain Dixon, age 72 of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
Born in Cleveland, Georgia on June 13, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Cora Bell Poole Chastain. Mrs. Dixon attend The Torch Worship Center. She enjoyed cattle farming, volunteering for Habersham Homeless and The Torch Food Ministry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Allen Dixon; son, Allen Dixon, Jr.; daughter, Rita Grindle; grandchild, Patrick Allen Dixon; sisters, Dolly Tanksley and Linda Miller.
Surviving are her daughters and sons-in-law, Myra & Clinton Broome of Gainesville; Vivian & Felton Turner of Alto; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Allen of Demorest and Judy Grindle of Gainesville.
A celebration of life service is scheduled for 2 pm, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at The Torch Worship Center with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating.
