Diane Hite McGahee

Diane Hite McGahee passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on May 10, 1948, Diane dedicated much of her life to her career at Traveler's Insurance, where she exemplified diligence and commitment.

Diane was a proud member of Camp Creek Baptist Church, reflecting her deep-seated values and dedication to community service. Her faith and active participation in church activities were integral to her life, fostering connections with many.

Throughout her life, Diane cherished her family, particularly her husband Gregory B. McGahee, with whom she shared a loving partnership for 17 years. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who admired her warmth and kindness. As a wife and cherished aunt, Diane took pride in cultivating a nurturing environment, and her legacy of love will resonate with all who knew her.

In addition to her familial commitments, Diane found joy in reading, flower gardening, and observing butterflies, hobbies that reflected her appreciation for beauty and tranquility in life.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Owen Lester Hite and Mary Lucille Slay Hite, as well as her brothers Owen Alfred Hite and Donald Hite, and sisters Mary Ridings, Barbara Clackum, and Norma Sanders. The impact of her loss is profound, felt deeply by friends and family alike.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home, located at 175 VFW Road, Cornelia, GA 30531. A funeral service will follow on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Camp Creek Baptist Church, with Pastor James Lyons officiating.  Burial will follow in Clarkesville City cemetery.

As we remember Diane Hite McGahee, we celebrate her life marked by love, dedication, and a profound commitment to her family and community. She will be missed dearly by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
