Don Larry Segars, age 66 of Homer, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Banks County on April 29, 1948, he was a son of the late Hershel Segars, Sr. and Gracie Jordan Segars. Mr. Segars was retired from the United States Postal Service, with 25 years of service, as a mail handler. He also worked at Fieldale Farms as a line supervisor for 11 years. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Horice Segars and Troy Segars; sister, Hazel O’Quinn.
Surviving are wife of 31 years, Christi Segars of Homer; son, Justin Segars of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Tina & Chad Jordan of Lula; grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden; sister, Margaret Jackson of Lula; brothers, Hershel Segars, Jr. of Homer and James Segars of Ocala, Florida.
Funeral services are 3:00 pm Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Charles Crabbe officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 pm on Sunday and also from 2 pm until the funeral hour on Monday.
