Donald Doyle DeFoor, also known by his friends asDonnie “Duck” DeFoor, age 57, of Clarkesville, GA, Passed away Tuesday March 8, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born on April 7, 1953, in Stephens County, GA, he was a son of the late Doyle and Texie Leonard DeFoor.Mr. DeFoor was a life-long resident of Habersham County and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. DeFoor was a truck driver by trade and had been employed by Morgan Concrete and Candler Concrete. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and car racing.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Woodall Defoor of the home, three sons and two daughters- in-law, John Curtis DeFoor of Texas, Josh Wilburn his wife Jana of Clarkesville, GA, Chad Eller and His wife Lisa of Germany, one daughter, and a son-in-law Carla and Stacy Smith of Baldwin, GA, two brothers, Roger and Doug DeFoor of Hollywood, GA, four grandchildren, Robin Whitworth, Katelyn Wilburn, Jana Eller and Cody Wilburn. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services are 2:30 pm Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Sanford Kimbrell, Rev. Jan Thompson, and Rev. Bill McKinney officiating.Interment will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kendall Mann officiating at the graveside.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 pm on Saturday until service time.
