Doris Hill

Doris Anita Edwards Hill, age 83 of Alto, passed away Friday, October 15, 2010.Born in Habersham County on April 04, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William Enoch and Eula Belle Taylor Edwards. Mrs. Hill was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia where she was active in the Phebean’s Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Buck Hill; sister, Dorothy Hardy and brother, Winston Edwards.Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Perry Vannier of Augusta; sisters, Louise Young of Richmond, VA, Lodema Martin of Demorest, Marjorie Dockins of Smyrna and Barbara Frady of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Lorin Beier, Alicia Vannier and Kim McNerlin; great grandchildren, Jonathan McNerlin and Bella McNerlin.Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Interment will follow in VFW Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-6 pm on Saturday.
