MRS. EDNA MATHESON COLEY, age 87 of Alto, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 17, 2013.
Born in Alto, Georgia on April 28, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Frank & Vera Shirley Matheson. Mrs. Coley was a member of the Calvary’s Cross Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Mrs. Coley was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Corbin “Cobb” Coley; son, Charles Everett Coley, sisters, Sylvia Wright and Mary Frances Matheson.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-laws, Beverly & Ray Holcomb of Baldwin, Gwen & Clyde Ivester of Alto; son, Melvin Coley of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie & Alicia Coley of Clarkesville, one sister, Ruth Cook of Alto; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Garry Garrison officiating. Interment will follow in B. C. Grant Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 and 7-9 pm Tuesday.
