EDNA KELLER SIMMONS, age 75 of Mt. Airy, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on July 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Edwin & Anna Bell Hudson Keller. Mrs. Simmons was a retired nutritional manager with the Habersham County School System and worked for Dairy Queen in Cornelia for a number of years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, animals, yard work, spending time with grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Simmons was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde W. Simmons.
Survivors include her daughters, Andrea Simmons, Edwina Simmons, both of Mt. Airy, GA; son, Keith W. Simmons, Jefferson, GA; step-brother, Lonnie West, Cleveland, GA; grandchildren, Patrick Ledford, Mt. Airy, GA; Joseph Ledford, Atlanta, GA; Jason Simmons, Mt. Airy, GA; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Oliver Dorsey officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery in Mt. Airy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. on Sunday.
