Elferd Columbus Carson age 93 of Alto, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on September 4, 1922, he was a son of the late William Jack and Annie Mae Worley Carson. Mr. Carson was a retired machine operator from Schnadig Furniture Company. After retirement, he then was employed with Quality Foods and Fieldale Farms Corporation. Mr. Carson loved watching wrestling, attending auctions and yard sales.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Susie Johnson Carson; son-in-law, David Lee Nix; brother, Edgar Carson; sisters, Ellie Ansley, and Edith Redmon.
Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Ann Nix of Cornelia; sister, Boyce Chastain of Cleveland; 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 4 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
