Emory Chambers

July 11, 1936 — March 22, 2014

Emory D. Chambers, age 77 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at his residence.

Born on July 11, 1936 in Habersham County, he was a son of the late Jim Chambers and Minnie Skelton Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a member of Return Baptist Church and retired from Shnadig Furniture Company. He enjoyed woodworking, southern gospel music, building swings and making people laugh. Most of all, Emory loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and enjoyed spending precious time with them all.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Chambers was also preceded in death by brothers, Delmer, John Henry and Carl Chambers; sister, Grace Darnell.

Survivors include wife of 58 years, Annette Caudell Chambers of Demorest; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sherri Chambers of Demorest; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Ronnie Smith of Demorest and Judy and David Loggins all of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Ruthelene Chambers of Cleveland; sisters, Renoria “Ping” Hallford of Demorest, Betty Caudell, Lois Hogan and Hallie Warwick all of Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie and Jimmy Jenkins of Clarkesville; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2014 at Return Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Shore, Bro. Ronnie Smith and Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
