Fermon Loudermilk

October 6, 1947 — July 20, 2014

Fermon Loudermilk, age 66, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County on October 6, 1947, he was a son of the late Ben L. and Flornett Pless Loudermilk. Mr. Loudermilk was a self employed poultry farmer with Fieldale Farms for 29 years and had retired as a law enforcement officer with the Department of Transportation, where he served for several years. He was a member of Chopped Oak Baptist Church as well as the Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge #141 F & AM for many years. Mr. Loudermilk was an avid musician and singer who sang at many benefit and church gatherings. He was a hard worker who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Loudermilk was preceded in death by his brother, Elder Marvin Loudermilk.
Survivors include wife of 12 years, Dollie Turner Loudermilk of Mt. Airy; daughter, Renee Loudermilk of Lula; step daughter, Penny Kesting of Dawsonville; step grandchild, Elijah Kesting of Dawsonville; sisters, Virginia Riggins of Mt. Airy, GA, Annie Sellers of Mt. Airy, GA, Shirley Potts of Cornelia, GA, and Linda Hren of Roswell, GA; brother, Lewis Loudermilk of Mt. Airy, GA; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Luther and Hazel Littleton of Mt. Airy and beloved Jack Russell Terrier, “Tater”.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. William Baker and Rev. Alvin Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Loudermilk Family Cemetery with Rev. Austin Kelley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
