Frances Maria Morris Elrod Mote, age 81 of Cornelia, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Habersham County on May 23, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Ruben Morris and Delia Gibbs Morris. Mrs. Mote was retired from Ethicon as a braider operator with 25 years of service. She was of the Holiness faith and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Levis Elrod; brothers, Jesse, William, Hoyt, and Howard Morris; sisters, Kathaleen Rich.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Randy & Gail Elrod of Cornelia and Kelvin & Tammy Mote of Ellsworth, Maine; sisters, Doris Johnson of Clarkesville and Ruby Morris of Union Hill; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; special caregiver, Peggy Dorsey of Cornelia.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Sunday, June 01, 2014, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am until the funeral hour on Sunday.
