Janice Gail Newell Mann, age 67 of Mt. Airy, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 22, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Willie and Lora Delk Newell. Mrs. Mann was a retired lab technician at Stephens County Hospital and a member of Clarkesville Church of God. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, sewing and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mann; brother, Coy Newell; sisters, Edith Hasty and Joan Croxton; great granddaughter, Kaydence Elizabeth Michelle Holler.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Kendall and Susan Mann of Clarkesville; daughter, Teresa Nesbitt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Melvin & Ginger Newell of Brooklyn, NY and Rev. Donald & Gail Newell of Huntersville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Faye & Charles Mann of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Krystal Ashe, Brandon Thompson, Brittany Nichols, Lauren, Jacob & Lydia Mann; great grandchildren, Peyton & Connor Ashe, Dexter Thompson, Kyleigh & Julian Nichols.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, September 24, 2012, at Clarkesville Church of God with Rev. Tim Tanner, Rev. Kendall Mann and Rev. Donald Newell officiating. Interment will follow in the Grant Reeves VFW Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-5 & 7-9 pm on Sunday.
