Geraldine Williams Ivie, age 88 of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on January 15, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Artie Duval “A.D.” and Allie Payne Williams. Mrs. Ivie was a seamstress with Carwood Manufacturing and Duckhead with over 50 years experience. She was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy LaFayette Ivie; brothers, A.D. Williams, Jr. and Eugene Williams.
Surviving are her sons, Steve Ivie and Ted Ivie both of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda & Michael Taylor of Demorest; 2 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Jerry Williams of Baldwin; sisters, Winnie Mullinax of Mt. Airy and Mary Ann Wilbanks of Banks County.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Saturday, November 18, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in B.C. Grant Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Danny Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
