Geraldleen "Jeri" Rhyne

December 27, 1928 — August 31, 2021

Geraldleen Simpson “Jeri” Rhyne, age 92 of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Born in Darlington, South Carolina on December 27, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Roy William Simpson and Lula Lillian Bacot Simpson. Mrs. Rhyne was an accountant with AT&T with 40 years of service. She was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was in the Joyous Sunday School Class and served as class treasurer. Mrs. Rhyne was a member of the Clarkesville Garden Club and enjoyed art and attending art festivals. A prim and proper elegant lady, she was “The Rock” of her family whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leroy “Bob” Rhyne; son-in-law, Johnny O’Dell; and her brother, Roy William Simpson, Jr.

Surviving are her daughter, Jeanne Rhyne O’Dell of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Mark Steven Rhyne (Darlene) of Duluth; granddaughters, Vanessa Rhyne and Jordyn O’Dell and grandsons, Jesse O’Dell, Jared O’Dell and James O’Dell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm, Saturday, September 4, 2021 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Dr. Adam Erwin officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.

The gentlemen honored to serve as pallbearers are Jesse O’Dell, Jared O’Dell, James O’Dell, Vernon Simpson, Gary Fox and Earle Hamilton.

Those in attendance are asked to please adhere to the public health and social distancing guidelines regarding COVID-19.
