Hayward Vandiver McGee, age 86, of Lula, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Northridge Medical Center.
Born on September 26, 1927, in Asheville, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Ransom Vandiver and Fleecie Ussery McGee. Mr. McGee was formerly employed with Southeastern Highway Contractors as a heavy equipment mechanic and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. McGee was also preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Ann Keerse McGee; daughter, Terenna “Tinker” Watkins; brothers, John William McGee and Frank Curtis McGee; sisters, Mary Brown, JoNell Gill, Alma Louise McGee.
Survivors include sons, James R. McGee and Johnny McGee of Carnesville; son-in-law, John Watkins of Lula; sister, Carol Jean Davis of Toccoa; two grandchildren.
Graveside services are 11:00 am Friday, November 29, 2013, at Westview Cemetery in Lula with Rev. John Umberhant officiating.
