Helen Laverne Canup, age 82, of Lula, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Northridge Health and Rehab in Commerce.
Born on January 3, 1931, in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of Oscar Lewis and Ruby Seay Canup. She was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills and was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church in Alto. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Lewis Canup, Jr and Michael S. Canup.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday, August 04, 2013, at Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery in Alto with family members conducting the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Helen Canup Memorial Fund, PO Box 725, Cornelia, GA 30531.
