Inez Fitzgerald Garrett, age 85, of Demorest, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015.
Born on January 10, 1930, in the Habersham Mills Community, she was a daughter of the late Robert Washington Fitzgerald and Birdie Free Fitzgerald. She attended Habersham Mills School where she later went on to work in the mill. She was also a housekeeper in Clarkesville for several years. Mrs. Garrett was a member of Habersham Baptist Church and also attended Welcome Home Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Garrett; sister, Brunell Marcus; brother-in-law, Henry H. Marcus.
Survivors include daughter, Margaret Ann Garrett of Demorest; son, James William Garrett of Demorest; adopted family, Mark and Tammy Turner of Alto; several nieces, nephews, other beloved family and friends.
Funeral services are 2 pm Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Donald Grizzle and Rev. David Masters officiating. Interment will follow in Habersham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday and from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
