Jean-Marie Yanuzis Mayfield, age 68 of Cornelia, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019.
Born in Riverside, New Jersey on June 14, 1950, she was a daughter of the late Felix and Dorothy Ruth Yearly Yanuzis. She was a manager at the Waffle House with 25 years of service. Mrs. Mayfield was very patriotic and loved her family, friends and animals. She was an avid supporter for the Special Olympics and Habersham Humane Society. Mrs. Mayfield has spent the last 39 years here having come from Florida and was of the Catholic faith. She was truly loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Lucille & Michael D. Hansen of Cornelia; grandchildren, Dayana Rutenber and David T. Mayfield; brother, Theodore R. Yanuzis of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Bonnie Brown of Cape Coral, Florida; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2019 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday and 12 pm until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
