Jim Hill, age 84 of Mt Airy, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Fulton County on October 02, 1928, he was the son of the late John “J. C.” and Ruth Sherwood Hill. Mr. Hill was self employed having owned and operated Jim Hill Grading. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church, where he was the President and former bus driver for the Happy Timers. He enjoyed reading, wood-working and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Eubanks Hill; son-in-law, Ted Letis and grandson, Robert James Hill.
Survivors include sons, Robert David Hill of Stone Mountain and Joel Davis Hill (Donna) of West Palm Beach, FL; daughters, Mary Dixon (Rickie) of Hayesville, NC and Susan Letis and Carol Mashke both of Mt. Airy; brother, Kenneth Hill of Loganville; sisters, Gayle Childers of Grayson and Dianne Anderson of Barnesville.
Funeral services are 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday.
