John "J.C." Fortenberry

John “J. C.” Fortenberry, age 78 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2015, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on September 5, 1937, he was a son of the late Frank Fortenberry, Sr. and the late Bertha Elrod Fortenberry. Mr. Fortenberry was retired from Scoville Manufacturing and was of the Baptist faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and cooking.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Lee Loudermilk Fortenberry; son, Chris Fortenberry; brother, Frank Fortenberry, Jr.; sisters, Anna Ruth Mullinax and Marshalene Gerrell.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, James & Bobbie Fortenberry of Cleveland, Daryl & Marie Fortenberry of Demorest, Farian & Tammy Fortenberry of Demorest, and Tim & Joan Fortenberry of Cleveland; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment will follow in Return Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Sunday.
