Johnny Lester Wheeler, age 67 of Demorest, passed away Wednesday, July 09, 2014, at his residence.
Born in Habersham County on January 10, 1947, he was a son of the late Jim Wheeler and the late Eula Mae Nations Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was an assistant caretaker with the Marcus Jewish Community Center for over 32 years and was of the Holiness faith. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Harrison Wheeler; brother, Howard Wheeler.
Surviving are daughter, Sherri J. Wheeler of Cornelia; stepchildren, Shane H. Dent and Kelly G. Dent both of St. Matthews, SC; brothers, Jimmy Wheeler and Donald Wheeler both of Clayton, Henry Wheeler, Chester Wheeler, and Skip Wheeler all of Demorest; sisters, Barbara Shook of Cornelia and Maevrie English and Patsy Roberts both of Demorest; five step-grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held at the Wheeler Family Cemetery on Wednesday, July 09, 2014.
