Johnny Wilbanks, age 67 of Lula, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born on December 06, 1945, he was a son of the late Ellene Loudermilk Perry and Roy Winslow Wilbanks. Mr. Wilbanks was retired as a weaver from TenCate Nicolon. He enjoyed dirt track racing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of Belton Baptist Church and was a licensed Baptist minister.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilbanks was also preceded in death by his step-father, Carl Perry; a brother, Winston Wilbanks.
Survivors include wife of 46 years, Juanita Davidson Wilbanks of Lula; son, Mark Wilbanks of Gainesville; grandchildren, Macy and Megan Wilbanks both of Lula; brothers, Roy Lee Wilbanks(Leigh) of Greenwood, SC, Bobby Ray Wilbanks of Mt. Airy, Ralph Wilbanks(Effie) of Mt. Airy, Homer Wilbanks of Alto and Travis Perry(Barbara) of Mt. Airy; sisters-in-law, Catherine Wilbanks of Gastonia, NC and Elise Wade of Lula; brother-in-law, Jack Davidson(Betty) of Lula.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2013, at Belton Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Miller and Rev. Phillip Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Anthony Cook officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9 pm on Thursday.
