Jose Velez Trinidad, age 79, of Alto, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023.
Born on December 24, 1943, in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Angel Miguel Velez and Romana Trinidad. Mr. Velez was a baker for 25 years. Joe enjoyed playing the lottery and gardening, but he loved his family most of all. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Velez; grandson, David Gonzalez; and great-grandson, Dawson Dodd.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Velez (Cristina) of Maryland, and Jose Velez (Jeanne) of Florida; daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria Hensley (Chris) of Virginia, Lindsay Cannon (Stephen) of Georgia, Susan Cortez (Bert) of South Georgia, Theresa Velez of Florida, and Laura Pidgursky (Peter) of Florida; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; ex-wives, Eleanor Valle, and Kathy Tichenor; one niece; and his cousin, Frankie Trinidad.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023, at the granddaughter’s residence, located at 725 Pine Villa Drive, Toccoa, Georgia 30577.
