Joseph Savage

Joseph Odell “Joe” Savage, Jr., age 73 of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. Born in Habersham County on November 02, 1936, he was the son of the late Joseph Odell and Clarcy Jane Whitworth Savage. Mr. Savage was a member of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church and was retired from Schnadig Corporation with 40 years of service. He was an avid NASCAR and Georgia Bulldogs fan who adored his cat, Charlotte and enjoyed working on lawn mowers. Surviving are wife of 54 years, Mae King Savage of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Sue and Jimmy Smith of Demorest; son, Michael Joseph Savage of Demorest; grandchild, Jared Lee Smith of Demorest; great grandchild, Connor David Wilson of Demorest. Funeral services are 11:00 am Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Paris Whitworth and Rev. Russ Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 pm on Wednesday. The family is at the residence of daughter, Sue Smith, 3914 Demorest-Mt.
