Kayrn Kay Wilson Bates, age 57, of Demorest, passed away Monday, January 06, 2014 at Habersham Medical Center.
Born on August 20, 1956, in Alma, Michigan, she was a daughter of Sylvia Marie Smith of Demorest and the late George Calvin Wilson.
Mrs. Bates had four beloved pets that she considered her children; two dogs, Jasmine and Junior, as well as two cats, Kitty and Gray. She enjoyed fishing and was a loving daughter, wife, sister and friend. She was also caring and would help anyone in need.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Bates is also survived by her husband, William “Bill” Bates of Cornelia; brother, George “Butch” Wilson of Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Erica Wilson of Traverse City, Michigan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine and Gale Jerome of Cumming and Della and Harley Jerome of Commerce; sister, Bonnie Wilson of Commerce; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Chaplain Gayle Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
