Kenneth Wayne Martin, age 64 of Clarkesville, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012, at his residence.
Born in White County on January 31, 1948, he was the son of Robert and Ethelene Tomlin Martin. Mr. Martin worked with Skitt’s Mountain Lumber Company as a sawyer for over 40 years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trading. In his spare, Mr. Martin enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Chastain.
Surviving are loving wife of 42 years, Carolyn Gibson Martin of Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Joey & Denise Martin of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Robin & Robbie Whipple of Demorest; brother, Robert Martin, Jr. of Lula; sister, Paulette Moody of Commerce and Joyce Boswell of Maysville; grandchildren, Dylan & Madison Whipple, Anna & Alyssa Martin, Blake Tanksley and Lauren Lewallen.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Return Baptist Church with Rev. Connie Berry and Rev. W. A. Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Pastor Anthony Shore officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Monday.
