Larry Jennings Swain, age 76 of Baldwin, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Hunnington, West Virginia on July 21, 1935, he was the son of the late John and Lillian Gibson Swain. Mr. Swain was a well-known self employed landscape architect, who enjoyed designing Bonsai trees. He was of the Christian faith and was an avid bowler and golfer. Mr. Swain served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.
Surviving are wife of 48 years, Jean Swain of the home; daughter, Dr. Linda Scott of Baldwin; son, Kenneth Rutzke of Palm Beach, FL; sisters, Rita Allen of Huntington, West Virginia and Sue Hodgson of Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Katherine Judson, Dawn Bush, Kenneth Rutzke, Jr. and Adam Rutzke; nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Pastor Trent Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
