Laura Mae Gibson, age 68 of Demorest, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016.
Born in Poquoson, Virginia on November 3, 1948, she was a daughter of the late David Follett and Ethel Firman Follett. Mrs. Gibson was retired from American Bag and Linen and a member of Clarkesville Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest V. Gibson; brother, David Follett, Jr.; sisters, Carolyn Jenkins of Melinda Rhea.
Surviving are son, Joe Donald Richmond III of Glouser, VA; step-daughters, April Saling and her husband, Hayden of Archdale, NC and Stephanie Stafford of Gainesville; sister, Jean Gibson of Clarkesville.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2016, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour on Monday.
