Leobardo Gomez age 75, of Demorest, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
Born on January 9, 1948, in Guanajuato, Mexico, he was a son of the late Pedro Gomez and Maria Navarro Gomez. Mr. Gomez was a cab driver, and before coming to the United States he was a farmer. He was of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Victor Adrian Gomez; and a brother, Rigoberto Gomez.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Maria Pineda De Gomez of the home; sons, Gerado Gomez of California, Juan Carlos Gomez of Demorest, and Nestor Gomez of California; daughter, Guadulupe Y. Rios of Cornelia; grandchildren, Dario, Dessy, Danny, and Mia Rios, Kassandra, Bella, Delahila, and Jackelin Gomez; brother, Eliseo Gomez of California; sisters, Eva Pacheco and, Carmen Espinoza, both of California, Marialuisa Camacho, and Jackelina Gomez, both of Mexico and Lorena Guerrero of Michigan.
Funeral mass will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at St. Mark Catholic Church with Father Norberto Matdeus officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 am until the service time on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at McGahee–Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.
