Linda Lou Abernathy, age 71 of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 on her 52nd wedding anniversary.
Born in Dahlonega, Georgia on May 11, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe and Clara Ingram Posten. Mrs. Abernathy retired from Habersham County Medical Center. She was of the Baptist faith and the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Henry Abernathy, Sr.; grandchild, Christy Chastain; brothers, Harold Posten, Carlos Posten, Jackie Posten, Tommy Posten and Johnny Posten; sisters, Imogene Garner, Bobby Sue Lee and Martha Joe Posten.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Abernathy, Jr. & Gwinda Abernathy of Sterrett, Alabama; daughters and son-in-law, Michelle Lewallen and Patricia Abernathy both of Cornelia, Hazel & Eddie Sanders of Stephens; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Level Grove Cemetery with Mr. Eddie Sanders officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
