Lois Savage

August 16, 1930 — July 17, 2011

Lois Savage, age 80, of Homerville, GA, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the Clinch Memorial Hospital.

Born in Banks County on August 16, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Eula Mae Stowe Whitfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Verdell Whitfield; sons, Tony Savage, David Savage and Randall Savage; four sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Savage lived most of her life in Habersham and was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was retired from Fieldale Corporation.

Survivors include sons, Roy Savage of Alto and Danny Savage of Baldwin. Daughters, Mary Glenn Gaddis of Homerville, Cathey Cunningham of Gainesville; brother, Harold Whitfield of Clarkesville; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Lilburn Newsome of Baldwin, Margie Broome of Homer; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Paris Whitworth officiating. Interment will follow at the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
