Louise Webb Bassinger, age 94 of Clarkesville, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Habersham County Medical Center.
Born in Demorest on June 17, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Allie and Mae Trotter Webb. Mrs. Bassinger was retired from Clarkesville City Hall where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and in her spare time enjoyed knitting and traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husband, R. L. “Bobby” Bassinger; brothers, Rev. Charles A Webb and Joseph A. Webb; and sister, Allie Mae Petty.
Surviving are son James Bassinger of Clarkesville; brothers, Carl E. Webb and Bobby Webb both of Clarkesville; sisters, Betty Ottman of Clayton and Kitty Faulkner of Catersville; two granddaughters and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Donald Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Thursday.
