Marjorie Lee Boseman Newsom, age 82, of Demorest, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at her residence.
Born on May 8, 1933, in Halifax County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Major and Maggie Garner Boseman. Mrs. Newsom was a homemaker and a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newsom was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Albert C. Newsom.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Charles Cabana of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sylvia Newsom of Demorest; sister, Hazel Irene Shaw of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; brothers, Charlie and Wayne Boseman both of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; grandchildren, Stephanie Vettese (Steve) of Atlanta, Jennifer Hallford (Lew) of Demorest and Steven Newsom of Petersburg, Alaska; great grandchildren, Parks and Jack Vettese both of Atlanta and Ayden and Addisyn Hallford both of Demorest.
Funeral services are 11 am Friday, August 14, 2015, at Fairfield Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Allison officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
All family and friends are requested to meet at the church by 10:30 am on Friday.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
