Martha Jean “Marti” Anderson, age 61 of Dahlonega, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Born on January 07, 1962, in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Jerome Arnold and Mildred Harn. Mrs. Anderson was formerly employed as a Lieutenant with the Georgia Department of Corrections, and was also a Habersham County Communications Officer for some time. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church, who was loved by all who knew her. In her spare time, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed sewing, fishing, gardening, flowers, and especially baking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, James Arnold.
Survivors include husband, Michael R. Anderson of Dahlonega; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica Ward (Shane) of Turnerville, Sarah Montgomery (Corey) of Atlanta, and Mary Blair Dorsey (Dustin) of Dahlonega; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Thompson (Melanie) of Coco Beach, Florida, and Ron Arnold (Kelly) of Maryland; father of children, Tony Callahan; numerous extended relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 2 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Dahlonega Baptist Church with Rev. Tyler Hughes officiating. All family members are requested to meet at the church at 1:15 pm on Saturday.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the funeral home.
