Martha Frances Elkins Cobb, age 88 of Cornelia, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012, at Habersham Home.
Born in Thomas County, GA on January 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Alvie Lealon and Grace Baker Elkins. Mrs. Cobb was a retired dietician with Stephens County School System with 15 years of service. She enjoyed sewing and cake decorating. She was a member of Hillside Baptist Church and also was active for 40 years in the Christian Missionary Alliance. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Alexander Cobb; son, Michael Cobb and brother, Alvie Lealon Elkins, Jr.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn & Frank Wessinger of Dawsonville, Judy & Steve Mayer of Alto and Colleen & Ronnie Stewart of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Marion, Jr & Jackie Cobb of Cumming and Keith & Betty Smith of Toccoa; grandchildren and spouses, Michelle & Mike Harris, Cheryle & Rusty Stevens, Marion Wessinger, Lee & Krista Estes, Jason Ayers and fiancée, Donna Whitt and Joel & Leah Ayers; six step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Stephens Memorial Gardens Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Larry Free officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-9 pm Tuesday.
