Martha Mae Simmons, age 67, of Cornelia, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2015.
Born on February 11, 1948, in Banks County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Billy Freddie Griffin and Maebelle Davis. Mrs. Simmons was formerly employed with Cornelia Verneer and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Simmons; brothers, Harold Davis and Leon Davis.
Survivors include sons, James Darren Simmons of Cornelia, Tony Gibson of Cornelia, Troyce Gibson of Homer and Paul Simmons of Cornelia; brothers, Richard Griffin of Atlanta, Clarence Chavis of Cornelia and Freddie Griffin of Atlanta; sisters, Juanita Rucker and Claudia Daniels both of Cornelia; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Mrs. Simmon’s residence, 404 Wayside Street, Cornelia, Georgia 30531.
